Get ready for the wedding

Scripture: Revelation 19:6–8

Every wedding requires preparation. Invitations are sent, attire is chosen, and anticipation builds as the day draws near. No one wakes up on the morning of a wedding and decides to prepare at the last minute. In the same way, God tells us that our lives today are preparation for a far greater celebration—the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Revelation paints a breathtaking picture of Christ, the Bridegroom, joyfully receiving His bride, the Church. The bride is clothed in "fine linen, bright and pure," which represents the righteous deeds of God's people. These deeds are not what earn us an invitation to the wedding; they are the evidence that we already belong to Christ. Our obedience flows from grace, not toward it.

Every act of faithfulness matters. Every moment you choose forgiveness over bitterness, worship over complaining, purity over temptation, and God's Word over your own desires is part of God preparing you for that glorious day. Even your perseverance through suffering is not wasted. Christ is shaping you into His radiant bride.

The greatest encouragement is that the invitation has already been extended. Jesus has done everything necessary through His death and resurrection to welcome us into His family. Our response is to trust Him, follow Him, and live each day with eternity in view.

Today, remember that your ordinary acts of obedience have eternal significance. You are not simply getting through another day—you are getting ready for the greatest celebration in history. Live with joyful expectation, knowing your Bridegroom is coming, and He is preparing a perfect and everlasting union with all who belong to Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for inviting me into Your family by Your grace. Help me to live each day with eternity in mind. Shape my heart to love You more, strengthen me to obey You faithfully, and prepare me for the day I stand before You with joy. Amen.
