“What If God Still Wants You — Even After Everything You’ve Done?”
Scripture: “Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish.” — Jonah 2:1
Reflection:
Jonah ran from God — on purpose. He disobeyed, rebelled, and even tried to end his life rather than turn back. Yet in the belly of a fish, covered in darkness and regret, Jonah discovered something powerful: God hadn’t left him.
We often believe that once we’ve messed up too much, God stops listening. Shame whispers, “You’re too far gone.” But Jonah’s story tells a different truth. From the very place of his rebellion, Jonah prayed… and God heard him.
You may be in your own “belly of the fish” moment — surrounded by chaos, regret, or sin you caused. But God isn’t waiting for you to clean up your mess before He listens. He’s waiting for your call. His grace meets you right where you are, not where you wish you were.
Jonah’s prayer shows us that God’s grace isn’t just for the righteous; it’s for the runaway. You can reach out to Him today — from the middle of your storm, from the inside of your failure — and He will answer.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that I’m never too far for You to hear me.
In the middle of my mess, remind me that Your grace reaches me.
Help me turn back to You, not when I’m perfect, but right now.
Amen.
