HOw to have Jesus in your boat

When the disciples found themselves in the middle of a violent storm, they were not there by accident. They were in that boat because they had already said “yes” to Jesus. Before the storm ever arrived, they had surrendered their boat, their plans, and their lives to Him. When the waves began crashing over the sides, Jesus was already with them.

Many of us want Jesus in our storms, but we resist surrendering to Him during seasons of calm. We want His comfort without His lordship. We want His rescue without His direction. Yet the disciples teach us that Christ's presence in the storm is connected to a life that has already been yielded to Him.

Storms have a way of exposing what we truly trust. They reveal our fears, our doubts, and the places where our faith is weak. But storms also provide an opportunity to see Jesus more clearly than we ever could on calm waters. The disciples thought the storm would reveal their end. Instead, it revealed their Savior.

Notice that Jesus did not panic when the storm came. He was asleep because He knew who was in control. When He stood and spoke, the wind obeyed, the waves submitted, and peace returned. The storm was never greater than the One who created the sea.

The same is true for you. Whatever storm you are facing today—relational, financial, emotional, or spiritual—it has never possessed more authority than Jesus. He may calm the storm immediately, or He may walk with you through it, but His presence is enough.

So don't wait for the storm to seek Him. Surrender your life to Him today. Let Him use your boat in the calm, and you'll discover that when the storms come, you're never facing them alone.
